PANAMIS has built four Model Farms in the Republic of Panamá. The first is in the Sierra Majé mountain range and was built in 1996. There are two growing seasons each year in which villagers participate in crop trials and learn sustainable farming techniques. They also share in the harvest. One season begins in May and the other in December.

In 2006 our second model farm project was inaugurated in Tortí. In 2008 two new farm projects were inaugurated in the villages of Tortuga and Playon.
