Since the early 1940's some 300 congregations have been established in the Republic of Panama. Over the past 65 years some of these have been totally abandonded and several have disbanded and ceased to exist. Many others are stagnant and some are floundering on the virge of extinction. Historically, the main reason for this loss is that leaders were never trained or appointed. As a matter of fact, of all the congregations in Panama, only three have deacons and elders. Churches without leaders and ships without rudders are both destined to be tossed about until they finally sink. This is why Christ designed his church to have Elders, Deacons, ministers, teachers, etc. The scriptures tell us that this design was laid out before the world was ever created. |
